Book Haul!

There was a bookfair hosted by Half Priced Books in my hometown last weekend! Needless to say I took FULL advantage of the $1 trade paperbacks 😁

So, without further ado, here is my $30 haul, for a total of 29 books!

The Haul:

I picked up a few classics that my bookshelves were lacking, and these will be especially useful in my high school English classroom whenever I get my teaching certification this December!

The others were all just random books that I picked up and which happened to catch my eye. I think they are all the beginning of series (rather than a book in the middle), but I will have to double check that as I begin reading them. I’ve heard amazing things about Harry Turtledove and L.E. Modesitt, Jr., so we’ll see if they live up to their fame!

The Halo books are all for my fiance, and his face was PRICELESS when I gave them to him after my haul! The original trilogy set was $4 instead of $1 for each book, but I think it was worth the extra dollar. He was so happy, so I think it’s safe to say that I did well here 🙂

The Debt of Bones by Terry Goodkind is a prequel to his The Sword of Truth series, which I am incredibly interested to check out. If this book is good, perhaps I’ll start collecting the massive amount of those books (21 BOOKS TOTAL!!).

Terry Brooks’ The Measure of Magic I picked up because I already have some of his Shannara books, so I thought why not continue getting all of them? So far, I have the original Shannara Trilogy plus the prequel, 2 of the Heritage of Shannara books, and now this Legends of Shannara book.

The middle top two books are the first two books in David Farland’s Earth King Series (Novels of the Runelords). I’ve heard good things about this author, so I’m excited to try these out!

As for these… oh they hold a special place in my heart. Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series is my ALL-TIME, ULTIMATE FAVORITE book series EVER. Whenever I’m feeling down, I turn to one of these books and I perk right up! I started reading this series in 7th grade, and finally finished it my senior year of high school… it definitely impacted my growing-up years 🙂

Anyways, these were a BIG reason as to why I went to this particular bookfair (although to be fair, I go to any bookfair I come across). I got these books for my little sister! I finally convinced her to read this gem of a series, and she did! All on her Kindle. But she loved them so much that she’s now looking to get the whole series in paperback. I already got her #7 and she got #14 on her own, so I tried to get everything else! After this haul, she’s only missing #12 and #13!! 😁

Has anyone else read any of these books? Any feedback would be welcome! Especially on those random ones in the top picture 😀 I have no idea what I’m getting myself into!
